Hand gouged, shaped, profiled, and finished reeds from Gonzalez or Medir tube cane. These reeds are made in a Christlieb shape and hand wrapped with two different colors of cotton thread and natural, locally-sourced beeswax. No two wraps are the same. The shape gives them a beautiful singing quality with a warm, full round sound and even intonation. Medium strength reeds will play right away. These reeds are made with the Herzberg shape. The tip on this shape is slightly narrower than most European shapes which allows for stable intonation throughout the range of the instrument. Additionally, the process of beveling helps with the production of high notes. -
